Hybrid and city bike size chart
Coffee runs, commutes, Sunday loops. Upright, comfy and sized for real life.

Short answer: hybrids and city bikes are sized by letter or by frame size in cm, and charts are based mainly on your height. In one brand's hybrid chart, 165–175 cm (about 5'5" to 5'9") is a medium.[1 · Oct 29, 2026] Check the chart for the exact model and test ride if you're between sizes.[2 · Oct 29, 2026]

Urban and city bikes from the same brand
Note how the same maker shifts the ranges for its more upright city bikes:
| Size | Rider height[1 · Oct 29, 2026] |
|---|---|
| S | 150–160 cm (4'11"–5'3") |
| M | 160–170 cm (5'3"–5'7") |

| XL | 180–190 cm (5'11"–6'3") |
City bikes sized in centimeters
Some city and e-bike makers label frames in cm. One brand measures frame size as the distance from the center of the bottom bracket to the top of the seat tube, and lists these ranges:[2 · Oct 29, 2026]
| Size | Rider height[2 · Oct 29, 2026] |
|---|---|
| S (46 cm) | 4'10"–5'6" |
| M (53 cm) | 5'6"–5'10" |
| L (57 cm) | 5'10"–6'3" |
Frame size from your inseam
That same maker gives a simple rule for its bikes: measure your inseam barefoot with feet about 20 cm apart, then multiply by 0.68 for your frame size in cm. If the bike has a suspension seatpost, take 4 cm off the inseam first.[2 · Oct 29, 2026] For example, an 80 cm inseam gives 80 × 0.68 = 54.4 cm (our arithmetic). It's one brand's rule for its own frames, so treat it as a cross-check, not a universal formula. Step-by-step: how to measure your inseam.
Between two sizes?
- Height charts are a starting point; your inseam, reach, riding position and whether you want a sprung saddle also matter.[2 · Oct 29, 2026]
- If you're between sizes, test ride both.[2 · Oct 29, 2026]
